birthday

19

My 19th birthday beat my 18th birthday, but only by a few points. My (suprise; thrown by Mike) 18th birthday was surrounded by my closest friends, we played rockband, and watched Emperors New Groove. As my friends slowly got in their cars to go home I started crying. I think I cried most when Connor was leaving. I was crying because I didn't know when I'd see them again. I was moving 2,000 miles away. Emotions were a must that night.
My 19th birthday started off with Mike picking me up in his glorious red bronco in the morning. We went to Traverse Mountain shopping outlets, I couldn't pick out anything there, except lunch. Johnny Rockets was delish. After the outlets we made our way to Salt Lake City for some more shopping. We spent the day exploring the city, browsing through a lot of stores (a lot a lot), and then going back to his house for a movie.

Mike bought me a pair of tan bootie wedges, a cream sweater, a navy sweater, some shirts and lots of jewelry.
My mom took me shopping a few days before my birthday and I got jeans, shirts, and sandals.
Plus my parents got me a samsung galaxy tablet. I use it everyday. It's so nice! Netflix, Pinterest, and Google Docs are what I use the most.

Anyway, here are a few things I learned during my 18th year of life:
  • Not all your friends from high school are going to stick around and that's okay
  • Don't take travelling for granted no matter where it is
  • Change is good
  • Being un-friendzoned is awesome
  • Less complaining and more gratitude please
  • Stop wasting time
It was a good birthday. The memories of my bday are cherished ones already.

Sorry about the iphone pictures. I forgot my camera.

memories

"take me to the ocean
take me to the sea
I miss the waves in motion
I miss the salt air surrounding me
where the sun shines high
where the moon hangs low
that feeling you can fly
the feeling that you glow
sleeping all day
playing all night
no attention to pay
no worries in sight
so take me to the ocean
and take me to the sea
hurry
before they both slip out of reach"

I wrote this my junior year in high school for English and I had totally forgot about it until I read my friends blog TheUntouchableStoic.blogspot.com his writing is really amazing, go check it out.

This poem is no where near amazing but every time I find it and read it over again I can't help but smile because I wrote it on a snowy evening, in my old home, just after looking at pictures of the vast ocean on tumblr. So the memories are nice. I do remember my teacher not liking it though.

Writing is such an awe-inspiring thing to do. Whether it's a hobby, your career, or just for school, make sure it comes from you.
Any raw, emotional, incredible, scary, or alluring piece of yourself should be put down on that paper.

Provo

I went to Provo with my cousins yesterday. It's a little strange that we don't get together more often. I mean, I live 5 minutes form Maddi and 20 from Jess.

We walked around downtown Provo, went to Coldstone, ate at Chik-fil-a, and then went and watched the Maze Runner at Cinemark. Maybe our food choices weren't the greatest but they were dang delicious.

Sometimes I forget how important family is. I don't know what I'd do without my cousins. I love them so so much and I'm so glad that they're in my life.
